Sour Cream Blackberry Overnight Oats

I love the simplicity of overnight oats – I can prep them on Sunday night and have them ready for every morning of the week. The biggest win is my kids will eat them too!
Blackberries are one of my favorite fruits. Growing up in Oregon we would walk through the forests picking these little berries, finding the biggest and sweetest ones we could find. How perfect to combine them with Tillamook Sour Cream which is made right here in Oregon.
How to Clean and Freeze Blackberries
Here is how to clean them and freeze them so you have them all year long. (Now I think I want to add blackberry picking to my Summer Adventure List.)
The Texture Trick (this matters)
If your oats usually turn out:
- Too thick ? add a splash of milk in the morning
- Too runny ? add more chia seeds next time
- Too bland ? you forgot salt (everyone forgets salt)

Optional Upgrades
If you want to level this up depending on your mood:
Protein boost: Add Greek yogurt instead of part of the sour cream or toss in a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
Dessert vibes: Add white chocolate chips or crushed graham crackers.
Cozy version: Warm it slightly (trust me) and add a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.
Final Thoughts
This is one of those recipes that quietly becomes a regular. Not because it’s trendy. Because it actually works because this recipe is:
- easy (especially if you do them in disposable cups for the weeks you can’t worry about dishes)
- delicious and not boring (there are so many ways to make these)
And honestly, anything that makes mornings easier without tasting like cardboard deserves a permanent spot.
